Excerpt Range
The Excerpt Range macro enables the extraction and display of a defined cell range from an Excel-like Table for Confluence (ETC) directly onto any Confluence page. This functionality is ideal for presenting key data segments to specific stakeholders, ensuring clarity and relevance without overwhelming them with unnecessary information.
✨ Key Benefits
Targeted Information Sharing: Present only the data segments pertinent to each stakeholder group.
Dynamic Content Updates: Any changes in the source table are automatically reflected in the excerpted range, maintaining data consistency.
Enhanced Page Clarity: By displaying only necessary data, pages remain uncluttered and easier to navigate.

Use Case Examples
Stakeholder Group | Use Case | Description |
---|---|---|
Executives | Financial Overview | Display key financial metrics like "Total Revenue" and "Net Profit" without exposing detailed line items. |
Project Managers | Project Milestones | Show upcoming milestones and deadlines relevant to their projects. |
Team Members | Task Assignments | Present individual task lists and responsibilities extracted from a master project plan. |
Known Limitation
Unsupported Content: Tables and Pivot Tables
The Excerpt Range macros do not support nested tables or pivot tables within the selected range.
If you select a cell or range that contains a table or pivot-style layout, the excerpt may appear as:
Blank or partially rendered
Missing visual formatting (e.g., merged cells, bold headings, borders)
Misaligned rows or columns
This is due to limitations in how styled structures like tables are embedded and rendered in excerpt targets.
To modify a macro:

Hover over the macro you wish to edit.
Click on the Edit button that appears.
This will open the macro's settings, allowing you to make the necessary changes.
