Excerpt Macro

The Excerpt Macro in Excel-like Tables for Confluence allows you to define and reuse specific parts of a table across other Confluence pages or within the same page. It helps you maintain consistency and avoid duplicating content by referencing a single cell, a range, or a chart from another table.

✅ What You Can Excerpt

Type

Description

Single Cell

Display the value of a specific cell from your table as plain text on another Confluence page.

Range

Display a selected range of cells, including headers and formulas on other Confluence pages.

Chart

Embed and display a live chart, based on a selected table range, across different Confluence pages.

🔒 Read-Only Behavior of Excerpts

Excerpted content is not editable from the page where it's included.

To modify the excerpt content:

  1. Go to the source table page.

  2. Update the original cell, range, or chart.

  3. Changes will automatically reflect wherever the excerpt is used.
