I can't update the Effort in my Gantt-Chart.

Question

The Duration-Effort adjustment is set to “Manual”, why can’t I edit the Effort of my issues?

Answer

You can’t edit the Effort when the “Time Tracking” field is not added in the Edit screen for the corresponding issue type in company-managed projects, or when it’s not added in the Fields section in team-managed projects.

To solve this, please, follow the steps below:

For company-managed projects

1. On your Project Settings, open the Work items tab;

2. Click in the Screens section on the left panel;

3. Expand the Screen Scheme related to the issue you’re trying to edit;

4. Click on the Edit issue link corresponding to the Operation:

   

5. In the Configuration screen, scroll to the bottom, search for the Time Tracking field, and select the option to add it to the screen:

For team-managed projects

1. On your Project Settings, select Fields;

2. Search for the Time tracking field in the search bar in the right column;

3. Select the Time tracking field and click Add field:

   

Reopen your Gantt-Chart, and you should be able to edit the Effort now.
