Excel-like Bulk Issue Editor for Jira Cloud

Can I use Rovo with Excel-like Bulk Issue Editor for Jira?

Currently, the Excel-like Bulk Issue Editor for Jira doesn't offer a dedicated Rovo integration.

You can use Rovo with Jira to find and understand information from your Jira work items. However, Rovo cannot currently interact directly with the spreadsheet experience in Excel-like Bulk Issue Editor, such as performing bulk edits, applying conditional formatting, creating smart filters, or generating app-specific reports and exports.

What are we planning?

We are exploring a dedicated Rovo Agent for an Excel-like Bulk Issue Editor that brings natural-language and AI-powered workflows directly into the spreadsheet experience.

Our goal is to help teams spend less time manually reviewing, filtering, updating, and reporting on Jira data, while making it easier to turn that data into actionable insights.

Some of the capabilities we are exploring include:

  • Sprint review and performance summaries: Generate sprint reviews from your Jira data, highlighting completed and incomplete work, sprint changes, key performance metrics, and other insights that help teams understand sprint performance.

  • Bulk editing with natural language: Update multiple Jira work items by describing what you want to change. For example, “Move all unresolved high-priority bugs to the next sprint” or “Assign these work items to the Platform team.” Users can review the proposed changes before applying them.

  • Conditional formatting with natural language: Create spreadsheet formatting rules using simple instructions, such as “Highlight overdue work items in red” or “Highlight items that have been in progress for more than seven days.”

  • Smart filters with natural language: Find and focus on relevant work items by describing what you want to see, such as “Show me unresolved bugs assigned to my team” or “Show work added after the sprint started that is still incomplete.”

  • Rovo Agent-powered Excel summary exports: Generate Excel exports enhanced with AI-generated summaries, performance metrics, and key insights alongside your Jira data, making it easier to share sprint results and project updates with stakeholders.

How could this help with sprint reviews?

Instead of manually filtering work items, calculating metrics, and preparing a sprint summary, you could ask the Rovo Agent questions such as:

  • “Summarize the performance of the last sprint.”

  • “What changed after the sprint started?”

  • “Which work items were carried over from the previous sprint?”

  • “What were the main reasons work was not completed?”

  • “Show me the key metrics I should include in the sprint review.”

  • “Create an Excel summary of this sprint for the management team.”

By combining Rovo with the spreadsheet capabilities of Excel-like Bulk Issue Editor, teams could analyze, update, and report on Jira work at scale using natural language.

When will this be available?

The dedicated Rovo integration is not available yet. We're currently exploring these capabilities, and the final scope and availability may change as development progresses.

We’ll share more information as our Rovo integration for Excel-like Bulk Issue Editor evolves.
