Create an issue in our [support system](https://rssupport.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portals), providing as much information as you can about how to replicate the problem you're experiencing. We'll replicate the bug to verify, then lodge the report for you. We'll also try to construct workarounds if possible. ### How we approach bug fixing Maintenance (bug fix) releases come out more frequently than major releases, and attempt to target the most critical bugs affecting our customers. The notation for a maintenance release is the final number in the version (the 1 in 6.0.1, for example). If a bug is critical (production application down or major malfunction causing business revenue loss or high numbers of staff unable to perform their normal functions) we'll fix it in the next maintenance release, provided that: * The fix is technically feasible (it doesn't require a major architectural change) * It doesn't impact the quality or integrity of a product For non-critical bugs, the team assigned to fixing bugs prioritises the bug according to these factors: * How many of our supported configurations are affected by the problem * Whether there is an effective workaround or patch * How difficult the issue is to fix * Whether many bugs in one area can be fixed at one time Developers responsible for fixing bugs also monitor comments on existing and new bugs, so you can comment to provide feedback if you need to. We give high priority to security issues. When considering the priority of a non-critical bug, we try to determine a *value* score for a bug. The score takes into account the severity of the bug from our customers' perspective, how prevalent the bug is, and whether new features on our roadmap may render the bug obsolete. However, users can implement a workaround using the combination of the space sync app and Confluence `Include page` macro. This method is useful for syncing the homepage from the source space to an external destination. You can follow these steps: 1. From the original space, create a new pagewith the content you want to display as the Overview page. You will need to install Space Sync for Confluence app on all sites that you want to establish the synchronization. Please follow the same steps described here to create a new sync: 1. To enable it, you, who is a space administrator, explicitly allow the destination site to mention users in your site. If you allow the destination space to mention users in your site, every user who can view the destination space can search users in your site. Thus, users in the destination site can get all users on your site. User data includes only user id and names. Others like E-mail addresses and avatars are not included. The operations are executed in the Add-ons tab in the Space setting screen. 1. This page outlines what changes, what stays the same, and what you may need to do. Forge offers better security and reliability, and your existing data is preserved. This is a platform change, not a feature rewrite. Your sync configurations, site connections, whitelisting rules, sync logs and scheduled syncs are all retained, and the app keeps the same app key so the update is applied in place. **Important for Site Administrators** The Forge version declares a new set of granular permission scopes. Please refer to [++our documentation++](https://docs.ricksoft-inc.com/space-sync-for-confluence/manual-upgrade-guide) for instructions on updating your app. We highly recommend completing this update as soon as it becomes available. We plan to deprecate the Connect version by the **end of 2026**, in line with Atlassian's plans for the Connect platform. Moving to Forge will ensure continued access to future updates, improvements, and support. ## Why we are moving to Forge * * **Stronger security:**Forge allows the app to request only the specific permissions it needs, instead of broad access to read, edit, or delete content. It also runs within Atlassian's infrastructure, with additional controls over external data access. * **More reliable auto-sync:**Auto-sync now uses Forge product events rather than Connect webhooks. This provides more consistent handling of page creation, updates, deletion, restoration, and archiving. * **Access to newer Confluence features:**Forge gives the app access to newer Atlassian-supported capabilities, including page banners, content actions, the native Get Started experience, folders, and more granular content properties. * **Better long-term compatibility:**Atlassian is gradually retiring older Connect technologies and introducing stricter security and performance requirements. Moving to Forge helps ensure the app remains compatible with supported APIs and reduces the risk of disruption as legacy Connect features are phased out. ## What's changing in version 3.0.0 As we migrate all features to Atlassian's latest infrastructure, the app benefits from enhanced security. You do not need to uninstall the Connect version or install a separate app. * **Your license remains valid: y**our current subscription and license status will carry over automatically. No additional purchase is required. * **Your existing features will continue to work:**The following capabilities remain available: * Page synchronization, including attachments, comments, inline comments, and labels * Bulk sync * Scheduled sync * Cross-site mentions * Whitelisting requests and approval workflows * Confluence Data Center support * **Cross-site and hybrid connections are retained:**Existing Cloud-to-Cloud and Cloud-to-Data Center connections will continue to work using their current tokens and OAuth configuration. ## User experience overview * **Navigation:** The main app entry point moves to the **Apps** menu; space-level screens stay in space settings; the mention helper moves to the page **•••** menu. * **Permissions:** Space-level screens still respect Confluence space permissions, and the Data Center settings screen is restricted to site administrators. Sync operations continue to run with the permissions of the acting user. * **Performance:** The synchronization engine is unchanged, so sync throughput and latency are comparable to 2.1.8.
